Beaumont Hindu Society celebrated Diwali

“We are privileged to celebrate Diwali with our community” expressed Yash Sharma, President of Hindu Society of Beaumont during the festivities held at Mill Woods Senior & Multicultural Centre, Edmonton last week.
Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. The lights of Diwali signify a time to destroy all our dark desires and thoughts, eradicate dark shadows and evils and gives us the strength and the zeal to carry on with our goodwill for the rest of the year.
“We are determined to celebrate every festival involving community” stated Shekhar Desaigoudar, Founding Director & Treasurer of Hindu Society.
Ramesh Trivedi, Senior Citizen and Adviser of the Society was honored with Lifetime achievement award for his contribution towards the development of the Society and community work.
Indranil Chaudhury and Neil Singh were honored for the consistent community support on behalf of the Provincial Government.
Volunteers were also recognized for meal preparation and other arrangements.
Ashok Patel represented Garvi Gujarat Association of Canada and Sharan Khurana represented Apna Haryana Association of Alberta (AHAA).
Brandon Lunty, Leduc-Beaumont MLA represented the Provincial Government and distributed awards as well as exchanged greetings.
Hindu Society of Beaumont is the registered Not-for-Profit organization and working towards establishing the spiritual Centre at Beaumont.
