Edmonton: The City of Edmonton is encouraging residents to participate in several public engagement opportunities aimed at shaping community development, transportation improvements, economic growth and future city planning.
Among the key initiatives is Towards 40, where residents can review and provide feedback on draft safety improvement designs for two project areas: 114 Avenue from 119 Street to Tower Road and 29A Avenue/109 Street and 29 Avenue/105 Street in the Ermineskin-Keheewin area. The proposed designs were developed using previous public feedback and technical assessments. Public input will be accepted until July 5.
The City is also seeking feedback on the design of a new Hawks Ridge Community Park, which will support a future Edmonton Public School Division kindergarten-to-Grade 6 school while serving the broader community. An online survey remains open until June 30.
Residents are invited to share their views on proposed Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) routes in the University of Alberta and 82 Avenue corridors. Feedback on the transit project can be submitted until June 24.
In Westmount, the City is requesting public input on a rezoning application for a portion of 11038 126 Street NW. The proposal would allow for a medium-scale residential development with a maximum height of 16 metres, approximately four storeys, and limited ground-floor commercial and community uses. Feedback will be accepted until June 28.
To support local economic development, Edmonton is also conducting its annual Business Census, inviting business owners to provide information that will help guide future city services, business support programs and investment attraction efforts. The census remains open until August 31.
Additionally, the City is gathering public feedback through a Bike Parking Survey. Residents are encouraged to share their experiences using and accessing bicycle parking facilities to help determine whether existing regulations are meeting community needs. The survey will remain open until July 20.
City officials say public participation plays a vital role in shaping policies, infrastructure projects and services that will support Edmonton’s growth and future development.
