EDMONTON | July , 2026
Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) has announced a temporary closure of the Capital Line LRT between Churchill Station and Clareview Station from 8 p.m. on Friday, August 7, until 8 a.m. on Sunday, August 9.
The closure is required to allow crews to safely install overhead electrical lines north of 115 Avenue as part of ongoing transit infrastructure improvements.
To minimize disruptions, LRT replacement buses will operate between Churchill and Clareview Stations throughout the closure.
Replacement Bus Schedule:
- Friday, August 7: Every 7–8 minutes from 8 p.m. until the end of service.
- Saturday, August 8: Every 7–8 minutes from the start of service until 7 p.m., then every 10 minutes until the end of service.
- Sunday, August 9: Every 7–8 minutes until 10 a.m.
Passengers can find the locations of all replacement bus stops on the City of Edmonton’s Transit Alerts webpage.
ETS also confirmed that Valley Line Southeast train service will continue to operate normally and will not be affected by the work.
During the closure, Metro Line trains will be extended to Century Park Station instead of turning around at Health Sciences/Jubilee Station, providing continued service on the south side of the city.
Transit riders are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and check for the latest service updates before beginning their journey.
