Edmonton, Sept. 4, 2026: Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is asking the public for help identifying the occupants of a forklift involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision in northwest Edmonton last week.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 12:05 a.m. on Aug. 29, 2026, along 140 Avenue near 134 Street.
Police say an unidentified man was operating a stolen forklift, while two other men were riding on it. During the incident, one of the riders, a 20-year-old man, fell from the forklift and was struck by the vehicle. He suffered fatal injuries.
The forklift operator and the other occupant reportedly fled the scene on foot.
The Edmonton Police Service Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage, dashcam recordings, or other information that could assist investigators to come forward.
