One-and-a-Half-Hour Wait for Ambulance, Doctor Questions Emergency Response After Wife’s Death

Edmonton: A concerning case highlighting issues with the healthcare system has emerged from Edmonton. A doctor’s wife suddenly became seriously ill, and the family called 911 for emergency help. However, it took around one and a half hours for an ambulance to arrive.

According to the doctor, by the time the medical team reached the scene, his wife’s condition had become critical. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but sadly, she died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Following his wife’s death, the doctor is now calling for changes to Edmonton’s EMS and ambulance response system. He says every minute is extremely important during a medical emergency, and a faster ambulance response can make a critical difference in saving lives.

The doctor questioned how patients facing serious medical emergencies can be expected to wait such a long time for help, saying the system needs improvement.

He hopes that what happened to his wife does not happen to another family in the future.
