Capital Line LRT to Close Between Churchill and Clareview Stations on July 11–12
Edmonton, July 7, 2026 – Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) has announced a temporary closure of the Capital Line LRT between Churchill and Clareview stations on July 11 and 12 to allow for the safe installation of a new track crossing north of 115 Avenue.
During the two-day closure, LRT replacement buses will operate between Churchill and Clareview stations. Buses will arrive every 7–8 minutes until 7 p.m. and every 10 minutes from 7 p.m. until the end of service. Passengers are encouraged to check the official Transit Alerts page for replacement bus stop locations.
Service changes will also affect surrounding dates. On Friday, July 10, from 8 p.m. until the end of service, and throughout Monday, July 13, Capital Line trains will operate on a single track between Churchill and Clareview stations. Riders should expect minor delays during these periods.
Regular Capital Line service is scheduled to resume at the start of service on Tuesday, July 14.
The Metro Line and Valley Line are not directly impacted by the Capital Line track work. However, Metro Line trains will be temporarily extended to Century Park Station instead of terminating at Health Sciences/Jubilee Station.
Additionally, construction on the Valley Line Southeast will affect service north of Strathearn Stop on July 11 and 12. From 7:30 p.m. on July 11 until the end of service on July 12, a dedicated shuttle train will run every 30 minutes between Strathearn and 102 Street. Regular Valley Line service will continue between Mill Woods and Strathearn.
ETS advises passengers to allow extra travel time and plan their trips in advance during the service disruptions.
