Women’s Cricket League Launches Inaugural Women’s T10 Cup in Illinois
Hanover Park, Illinois: The Women’s Cricket League (WCL) is set to make history with the launch of its Inaugural Women’s T10 Cup, a landmark event aimed at promoting women’s participation in cricket and empowering female athletes across the community.

The highly anticipated tournament will take place on Saturday, June 27, at 1919 Walnut Avenue, Hanover Park, Illinois. The event will begin with an Opening Ceremony at 4:00 PM, followed by the first match at 5:00 PM.

The opening fixture will feature an exciting contest between Chicago Blue and Chicago Green, two teams representing the growing strength and talent of women’s cricket in the region. Chicago Blue is owned by Hina Trivedi, while Chicago Green is led by Lubna Ejaz, both of whom have been instrumental in supporting and advancing women’s cricket initiatives.
Organized under the banner of the Women’s Cricket League, established in 2022, the tournament seeks to provide a competitive platform for female cricketers while encouraging greater community engagement in the sport.
“This event is more than just a cricket match; it is a celebration of women’s achievements, determination, and passion for sports,” organizers said. “The league aims to inspire the next generation of female athletes and create new opportunities for women in cricket.”
In addition to the on-field action, the league is inviting interested players and sponsors to become part of this growing movement. Registration and sponsorship opportunities are available through the respective team owners.
