Edmonton Police Seek Public Help Identifying Suspect in Early May Fire Investigation

Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect connected to a suspicious fire that occurred at a residential property in southeast Edmonton earlier this year.

According to police, the incident took place in the early morning hours when a male suspect allegedly broke into an attached garage and deliberately set it on fire. The blaze quickly spread to the home, which was occupied by a family, including young children. Fortunately, all occupants managed to escape safely and no injuries were reported. However, the fire caused extensive damage, destroying the residence and impacting a neighbouring property. (Edmonton Police Service)

Investigators have released surveillance images of the suspect, who was seen riding a bicycle near the scene around the time of the fire. Police are now appealing to residents who may recognize the individual or have information related to the incident to come forward. (Edmonton Police Service)

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Edmonton Police Service or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify the suspect and determine the circumstances surrounding the fire. (Edmonton Police Service)
